Well, tonight was the second session. The topic was the Probate Court, everything you wanted to know about Divorce, Separation, Custody, Adoption, Will, Guardianship and Probates of Estates, but nothing for the "Little Speeder," that true criminal in all of us.
While the mood in the crime court a week ago was patronizing and distrustful ("deep down, you are all criminals"), the presentations in the family court were much more relaxed ("people are strange"). To the District Court, people contesting their simple speeding tickets seemed to be annoying. To the Probate Court, a childless couple suing each other over the custody of a dog seemed to be amusing. But either case was regarded by the judge as a waste of time. Moral of the story? You are better off getting a divorce than a speeding ticket. :-)
So that's it for now. Signing off, your courtroom reporter,
