It was Juvenile Court tonight and they didn't mention driving even once. (Darn, and I missed the trial on Seinfeld for that?!) Hopefully, next week's tour of a police station will be more informative for us.

Hovever, the message was clear:

It was public pressure that produced mandatory sentencing for certain drug charges in 1992 and
It was public pressure that produced the Juvenile Court reforms in 1996.

Only public pressure can change the current wide-spread practice of using minor traffic infractions as a way of generating revenue.

Those of you in Boston's Metro West area can attend an open meeting on May 27, 1998 in the Dedham District Court on "How Can the District Court Better Administer Justice." 4 - 6 PM. Be there!
